This frock took the spot this week quite simply because it made me smile.
It was so great to see the Duchess of Cambridge break out and wear such a bold print at the 100 Women in Hedge Funds dinner in London.
The dress was from Erdem’s pre-fall 2015 collection and Catherine’s height allowed her to carry off the deep frill which could have swamped a shorter person.
The only disappointment for me was that because she was wearing her hair down we couldn’t get a great look at the Queen Mother’s fabulous sapphire and diamond fringe earrings she was wearing.
And on the subject of royal frocks, I was pleased to discover yesterday that there will be a large exhibition of the Queen’s outfits next year to celebrate her 90th birthday. Called ‘Fashioning a Reign: 90 Years of Style from The Queen’s Wardrobe’, the largest display of The Queen’s dress ever mounted, will be shown across her three official residences, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
