Two promotional events in New York have captured my attention this week – the launch of Stella McCartney‘s Pre Spring/Summer 2013 Collection and the dinner that Sarah Jessica Parker is hosting at her home to raise funds for President Obama‘s election campaign.

I was so grateful for the fact I had a seat indoors from which to watch the pageant on the Thames. The pageant was the main spectacle on the Sunday of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend and unfortunately it was a rainy day. Because I was inside, my photographs are a little dark but I thought that I’d share them anyway.

US clothing brand, Emerson Fry (until recently Emersonmade), has been on my radar for some time. Beloved by US fashion writers and bloggers, I have finally taken the time to properly investigate the brand behind the hype.

My research has discovered that the company is run by Emerson and her husband Ryan Fry and started life as an arts and craft company selling items such as handmade corsages and table runners. In 2011, they expanded into clothing which has been a huge success and helped them grow a global customer base.
