Lots of people moan about Pret. They slate the high content of salt in their soup and the over exuberant use of rocket and mayonnaise in their sandwiches but I like them.

John Lewis Christmas advert 2011

The launch of the John Lewis Christmas advert is fast becoming a key day in the national calendar.

This Christmas, they have focused on the excitement and frustration that children have leading up to Christmas Day, but with a clever twist. The advert was again created by their retained agency, Adam & Eve, who famously featured in last year’s series of Inside John Lewis documentaries on BBC2.

Lauren Bush’s wedding dress

I have been aching to see Lauren Bush’s wedding dress so was soooo excited when the pictures were released a few days ago.

I love the fitted waist and the shape of the skirt. My mother had always envisaged that I would have a lace wedding dress and this is an especially beautiful one – it looks so much more exquisite than the lace on the Duchess of Cambridge’s dress.

I found myself listening to some of Matt Cardle‘s songs from his time on last year’s X Factor at the weekend. Whilst teeing up my playlist to accompany my writing today I stumbled across the cover of Adele’s ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ which he performed on the Jo Whiley show a few weeks ago.

‘Set Fire to the Rain’ is probably my favourite Adele song but Matt’s version blew me away – so beautiful.
